An unconventional Tuscan wedding
This past weekend we were invited to an Italian wedding in the mountains near Prato. I especially loved how non-traditional it was. The civil ceremony was held in the middle of a forest on the grounds of a villa with a beautiful view. I have never been to an Italian wedding that wasn't in either a church or a town hall. It was pretty magical.
The reception was also very unique, a mix of very informal and rustic with touches of elegance.
The theme was country-ranch-meets-England--clearly the vision of the veterinarian horse-loving bride who lived for a spell in the UK.
It was held at a sporting club and the food was low-key and casual.
Peanut especially loved the chips and candy and did not end up eating much else.
It was all very charming and original, and again very non-Italian.
I think other Italian parents were a bit surprised by how we let Peanut play about in the rain (the weather was all over the place) and launch his well-dressed self into the dirt.
Thankfully we fit right into the theme!
